The original is black and white and was taken by reknown photographer Ray Gallo; this is a beautifully colorized, matted and framed 16x20 print. Gallo once said about this piece: "This classic photograph is a contrast to the greatness and mightiest power of all of baseball. Mickey Mantle is inspirational, immortal, and legendary to all of America. For the years of excellent cooperation I am honored and grateful to you." This terrific image is beautifully autographed by Mickey Mantle in silver paint pen against the black background; the contrast is incredible! This was one of only 1956 Limited Edition signed prints; this is number 180. Also in the lower lefthand portion is an embossed "Ray Gallo Photographer ©1980" logo which is initialled in silver paint pen "RG". With the tastefully done mat and frame, this piece is really eye-catching...imagine hanging it at your home or work! |
